In the event anyone was wondering why alien fishbowl didn't update last week or this week- the site has been hacked.

The site was hacked and the person who watches over it and deals with all the problems has had a shit ton of crap to deal with  (like getting infected teeth FINALLY removed and having to hunt up some wage slave job to get ends to meet cuz nobody can pay her husband correctly ((the economy is GREAT everyone))) on top of the site getting hacked and infected. Plus *my* job sent me off some where and I'm surprised I can even get internet at this point. This is NOT helping me learn that death threats don't solve stressful problems.  I would like to learn a way to solve problems without death threats and yet death threats are what gets me something that looks like results- shoddy and held together with spit and tape results but what ever.

anyway- site hacking and work got in the way of updates.

And latter the me going out into the field will get in the way of up dates if the site dose not stop getting hacked. Which it won't cuz this keeps happening and has been getting worse.

A Sci-Fi humor random comic with aliens, Greys, Reptoids, L.S.D2s, a Girl with Aliens Breaking Her Lamps and ufo/ufolgy mixed in what what ever random order I may or may not choose depending on how me and my inner programming I may or may not have  may or may not agree upon.

Mainly I had the idea to mix Aliens, Gin, Vodka and Olives together to see what the hell I would come up with.

People- when you are where it snows, stop bitching about the snow and do not ask for rain! Rain brings ice! Snow- also brings ice but we have yet to have anything real bad with snow (garnet, I walk so I don't have a car or driving to worry about- so maybe for drivers it's been pretty bad) but the rain...the ice....no. I can WALK on snow. Or in snow. Ice- not so much.

So unless you are in a desert or suffering a drought- Don't ask for rain till we get to the point it won't freeze. Then it can rain all it wants. Damn. Summer is rain time. Not winter!

Comic Creators Alliance: Fighting Together to End Human Trafficking drive starts Jan 11 through Jan 24th.

I saw this going on last year and decided to take part in it this year. Pretty much over 100 artists- web comics or other wise- got together to contribute images to make a single wall paper/desktop image for donations. The donations will be split between Love 146 and Gracehaven.

It's like Florida: The money sucks and people don't speak english! Hah!

From what I am told- the place I'm at is actually one of the few places that was not bommbed during World War II meaning there are still some buildings and things that are over 1,000 years old still standing. Neat.  

Anyway, that's where I'm at with no phone or internet. Though I am trying, I have yet to see depending on others for help work like it's supose to. -_-.

If it all fits and there is room left over....there may be something missing.

Cuz that seems like all I do about movies I have barley seen.

It was pointed out to me that, despite my less then pleased reaction, I was drawn out of isolation into the room said movie(s) were playing in. This happened with Avatar, the happened with the Lighting Thief.
Well- when walls are thin and you hear things happening in another room, you go to look what the hell is going on. You see things move on a box that once upon a time you were glued to religiously for set periods of time, you easily fall back into the pattern of behavior.

The visual effects in movies these days are eye catching. They are- in so many words- awesome. I wish to god they would put the same effort into plot as they do effects. I am being punished for all those critical thinking and philosophy/morals and ethics classes- I know this. I don't care.

Lightning Thief- I know this is a series of books. I don't know anything about them, I think it's unfair that they automatically get lumped (in my mind) as a Harry Potter type book, but that's what they get for coming out after (or during) the same time as Harry Potter. Just means they only have to prove me wrong- not hard to do if you have plot. I know that cramming a book into a movie (particularly a Harry Potter type book) more or less mutates the story into two differently similar things: Movie and book. Both, while they share something in common (the name) they are more often then not two very different things.

Now, I know Greek Mythology- to the point I run laps around every art history teacher I have had a class with, and every humanities class I've had that touched on Greek myths. I think the only time I will run into a challenge is if/when I meet some one who's lively hood is Greek Myths- and even then I should be able to keep up.

So- when you present to me a story that involves Athena- one of three VIRGIN goddess- having a daughter- you are expecting me to believe that this goddess; who is part of a tree rival goddess (Hera, Aphrodite and Athena where always looking for ways to get one up on each other or other petty court things higher ups do cuz they have to much time on their hands) is going to get herself pregnant and ruin/change her figure? I don't think so. Not when she can hold over the other two goddess' heads that THEY have popped out countless children and the only reason they are not sagging anywhere is because they are goddess. That was breaking point.....3.

Breaking point one was when they brought in the Fury- The Furies are a set of three- FEMALEs- and they only come after the guilty. Not the wrongly accused. They are not some fucking minion that can be chased off, they are a power that not even the GODS piss off. Fuck you, stupid story for fucking over one of my favorite deities.

Story teller's licenses! . . . There is story teller's license to bend, stretch and blur however, a lot of people seem to be using it as an excuse to turn out regurgitated repetitive crap out of sheer laziness, or worse, because that's the only shit corporate allows to sell.

The idea of taking  ancient gods and goddess and blending showing the layers at which they blend/bend into the modern world is a very nice concept- not new-  one that can be played with. Much like a Lady Gaga music video- such potential and promise result in epic fail! There is blending them into modern times and staying true to the myths, then there is just taking the idea of the myth and not giving it the justice it deserves.

It is leaving me to question: did the people writing this even have a fucking clue what they were writing about? And if the movie is like that, then what of the book?

Oh- and the sound track left much to be desired. Sad, cuz the songs they used were ones I liked. I found it overly loud, obnoxious, nerve grating and did not do anything to enhance the story.

What I've seen, has not impressed me.

1) It's pretty. I will give it that. There are other movies just as pretty.

2) It's still humans in blue body paint. CG body paint just = more more spent, less actor clean up.

3) You can still see the ethnicity of the actors. This is not a bad thing- but you can still see the human under the body paint.

4) The story line I am picking up is BAD Corporate-White-Military wants the Native Indians land, they put their man inside, they lie, they say 'relocation' what they mean 'it's easier to just wipe them out, but hey the survivors will get a tax free casino and welfare for the rest of their life."


5) They took American Indians and sent them to Africa. -_- Cuz nothing is more mystical to a rich white barbie and ken than American Indians in Africa.

6) Drinking game perhaps?

I ain't impressed with the movie. I've been hooked by enough movies via snippets to know Avatar ain't hooking me.

If Avatar is what other movies are striving for, I foresee myself saving  money cuz there ain't anything there worth my viewing time.
